The scholarship will be provided monthly throughout the minimum period required to acquire the degree. The amount of scholarship depends on differs based on the period as below:

 ¥230,000 per month for 1 ~ 2 years degree
 ¥210,000 per month for 3 years degree
 ¥180,000 per month for beyond 3 years of degree

  • Open to international students from any country except Japan.
  • Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a graduate program (Master’s or PhD) at a Japanese university starting April 2026.
  • Those enrolling in Fall 2025 may also apply for this Spring 2026 scholarship.
  • Current students, individuals not yet enrolled, and even employed applicants are eligible, provided they plan to start graduate studies in April 2026.
  • Professional graduate schools are generally excluded unless the applicant submits a detailed research plan.

    • Up to 30 years old for Master’s applicants
    • Up to 35 years old for PhD applicants
  • Must demonstrate a strong commitment to contribute to their home country after graduation.
